"Barrett's classes are unique because he motivates students to reach their edge in a vigorous practice without being pushy, intimidating or judgmental. His love of yoga and sense of humor make his classes playful and original while still focusing on traditional form. He's very welcoming to students of all levels."

I have practiced yoga six days a week since 2000, and have been teaching since January, 2004.

In the winter of 2004, after completing an intensive with senior Iyengar Teacher Manouso Manos, I felt for the first time that I had a yoga practice. I have completed the 200-hour Kripalu and the 200-hour It’s Yoga Teacher Trainings, and I have studied with Patricia Walden, Rusty Wells and done workshops with John Friend, Rodney Yee, and Baron Baptiste, yet my practice didn’t feel integrated until it was scrutinized and challenged by a senior teacher.

In October, 2005 I took the Iyengar Intensive with B.K.S. Iyengar in Estes Park, CO. I practiced daily and studied weekly with Manouso Manos and took his quarterly intensives until 2007, when I moved to New York City.
